WeoGeo (www.weogeo.com) is looking to add an experienced web developer to our team!
WeoGeo is a company in the Web 2.0 mapping / GIS space. More specifically, we're building a marketplace for GIS professionals to share, buy, and sell maps and other geo-data.
Originally a Florida based company, WeoGeo is currently transitioning our team to Portland, Oregon. We are currently located in the Portland State Business Accelerator building on SW Corbett Ave near the Ross Island Bridge.
Our applications use Ruby on Rails on the server side and JavaScript/Ajax on the front end. Ideally you already have strong skills and experience in both of these areas so you can get up to speed quickly.
Our team uses both Macs and Linux for development workstations, whichever you prefer.
We use open source technologies, including Ruby, MySQL, Linux and C. We also build integration points to open source GIS technologies such as GDAL and OpenLayers. Our infrastructure is built on Amazon Web Services including EC2 and S3.
We use source control (SVN, moving towards GIT), bug tracking (Retrospectiva), and virtual machines for development, testing and deployment.
