Job Description: ORGANIZATION PROFILE: The Custer Battlefield Museum is located in Garryowen, Montana. The museum's mission is to educate the general public on the Western Migration Movement and expansion which occurred in the 19th century, and the Battle of the Little Big Horn. This institution also collects, preserves, and exhibits original artifacts, beadwork, photographs, paintings, rare books, and manuscripts related to Custer, the Battle of the Little Big Horn, and other frontier subjects. Custer, Tom Custer, Crazy Horse, Required Skills: POSITION DESCRIPTION: Category: Internships/Fellowships Seasonal Docent/Internship position with the Custer Battlefield Museum in beautiful Garryowen, Montana, May - September 2008. Responsibilities include assisting the Director, admissions, answering questions, giving directions, and educating tourists in all aspects of the famous Battle of the Little Big Horn. There are several opportunities within the museum to serve your interests. The internship is an unpaid position, 30-40 hours per week. The museum averages 100+ visitors daily.
