These are hard-waxed inside, so as to be internally-waterproof.The prior contents were a 500-pound, sloshing load of liquid-detergent (akin to "Dawn" dishwashing-detergent). The inside of each drum is clean and odor-free.
I have rinsed throroughly -- until there was no more foam, suds, or froth.
These storage-drums would be suitable for "double-stacking" (with one of them sitting on top of another), so as to efficiently conserve your storage-space.

You can use large, plastic, thick-mil. bags and "twist-ties" to enclose the contents inside of each drum.
