Today in Clark County, Washington, there are over 700 abused or neglected children in the foster care system.Become a CASA volunteer, and be the voice for one of those children.

The Position:
CASA volunteers are Court Appointed Special Advocates who investigate the circumstances of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. CASA volunteers become the voice of the child, raising concerns and discussing issues regarding the child’s best interest.The position requires approximately 3-8 hours per month, as well as a commitment of at least 1 year.

Who are CASA Volunteers?
CASA volunteers come from all walks of life.They are ordinary citizens who share one essential quality:They care about children.

Requirements:
Volunteers must be 21 years or older and complete 35 hours of training to prepare for the position.No special background or skills are needed; however genuine concern for the welfare of children is a must.Bilingual (Spanish/English) speakers are always in high demand.

The Introduction to Volunteer Service is Tuesday, April 8th from 6:00 - 8:30 pm at YWCA Clark County (3609 Main Street).
