ANNOUNCING the new website for the Northwest Authors Luncheon - a Fundraising event for a Portland student.

Each year this event showcases authors in the Northwest who have a new book published. We are always looking for new authors to attend our annual event. We usually have five authors who speak 8 to 10 minutes about their books, followed by a book signing and sale.

The alumnae act as booksellers and the money made is sent to Stephens College for its scholarship fund. The event serves as a great public relations tool for the authors. Moreover, it is truly an enjoyable event that both the authors and the audience seem to enjoy.

For over 13 years the Portland Stephens College Alumnae has hosted an Authors Luncheon. Stephens, a four-year liberal arts women's college located in Columbia, Missouri has been educating women for more than 170 years.

The recipient of the scholarship funds go to an Oregon student who has demonstrated their desire and respect for higher education, but due to life circumstances may not be able to manage all of the tuition.

Past recipients of this scholarship have gone on with their Stephen's College education and have graduated in such fields as Education, Forensics and Filmaking.
