The prior contents were a food-additive powder, packaged within a separate, clear-plastic sack (inside of the cardboard drum).
These fiber-drums are made from very thick, cylindrical cardboard.
Each drum has a metal rim around both the top edge and the bottom edge.The cardboard bottom does not touch dirt or moisture at ground-level, because the cardboard is positioned above the steel bottom-rim.So, if the floor or ground is wet, it won't saturate into the cardboard bottom of the drum.

Each 15-gal. mini-drum has a tight-fitting, steel lid.There is a galvanized-steel, lever-lock, circular ring that clamps around the detached lid, so as to secure the lid to the drum.
These storage-drums would be suitable for "double-stacking" (with one of them sitting on top of another), so as to efficiently conserve your storage-space.
