Hello everyone,
I'm a 20-year-old college student (I turn 21 in June) looking for an inexpensive place to live starting in early to mid May. I would prefer living in a house to an apartment, but I'll do with either. I would prefer to live in inner SE Portland or the Ardenwald neighborhood of Milwaukie, and I'm also open to inner NE. Unfortunately, I can't really afford much in terms of rent, I can pay up to $400/month for rent (not including utilities), and 300-375 would be ideal if that's possible.
As for me, I'm a single straight female, working on finishing my bachelor's degree. I'll be entering my last year of school next August. I work a lot during the summer at my job, but during the school year I tend to be at home more often. I'm not vegetarian, but I eat organic food as much as possible and I've recently taken an interest in cooking and baking. I support Barack Obama for president. I'm not really religious or anything. I do not smoke or do any drugs, but I like to have a drink occasionally. I'm pretty laid back and quiet, I don't throw loud crazy parties (though I'll occasionally have a few friends over), and I generally listen to music on headphones. I really like to keep common areas clean and get dishes done right away, but my room can get messy.
I have a cat (pic below), a soft, beautiful 3-year-old female tortoiseshell. She is spayed and has all of her shots. She absolutely loves people and can very affectionate and playful. The cat is very clean, uses her litter box, and she has a cat condo for scratching and several toys for her entertainment. However, she does not get along well with other cats and thus potential roommates should not have any cats. A well-behaved dog might be OK, since my cat has lived with a dog before without any problems. I am very willing to pay a pet deposit for the cat.
As for what I'm looking for in roommates, I prefer to live with other students, or people age 18-25. I need to live in a smoke-free household, indoors and out. I am NOT 420 friendly (sorry), and no hard drugs or alcoholics please. I would like roommates to be able and willing to clean up after themselves, and respect the fact that I like to sleep at night. I'm not really into large wild parties or loud music played at all hours of the night. I don't really care about people's eating habits, sexual orientation, political views, or religion, as long as you respect my views I'll respect yours. I'm not into drama at all. Also, you must be able to pay rent and utilities on time every month.
